My best project is my very detailed and informing research paper on the religion of the Holy Roman Empire. It describes in depth about the three main religions of the Holy Roman Empire. This is also my first research paper and I thought that it had all the information and facts that it needs.
My projects:I have learned many things from this project and it was my favorite project ever! One thing i have learned from this project is to not wait until the last minute to do this because it takes forever! Another thing i learned from this project is ,of course, how to make a video! Now i can make a video when ever i want.
The Holy Roman Empire is well-known for its three types of religions strewn throughout the vast empire. Roman Catholicism was the main religion of the time of the Holy Roman Empire. The church that is known for the headquarters of this religion is the Roman Catholic Church, which was the largest Christian church in the world and consisted of more than one-billion members of this religion. The highest church official of the Roman Catholic Church is called the pope. The followers of this religion believe that the church’s mission is to spread the word Jesus Christ. These members of the church believe that Jesus Christ and his apostles founded the Roman Catholic Church. An apostle is someone who is sent forth as a messenger. Among these apostles, was Simon Peter. Catholics believe that he was the chief of these apostles. Bishops or ordained ministers are successors of these apostles who founded the Roman Catholic Church. This religion is written in the Book of the Gospels, or stories about the life of Jesus Christ. The members of this church believes they are guided by the Holy Spirit which is the spirit of God. Catholic beliefs are based on the Deposit of Faith which consists of the Holy Bible and the church’s authority, known to Catholics as Sacred Tradition. The formal worship is referred to as Liturgy. All Catholics believe in one god and believe that their church was the first church ever founded by Jesus Christ. Catholics also believed in the afterlife. If they lived a good life, they would be able to go into heaven in the afterlife. Membership of the Catholic religion is based on baptism. In the early ages, if a Christian of the Catholic religion did not will to sacrifice for their god, they would be persecuted or the consequences of someone professing their faith. The second main religion of the Holy Roman Empire is Lutheranism. This religion was founded by a man named Martin Luther, a 16th century German reformer. He spread this religion through all of Scandinavia during the 16th century. Since this year of 1520, Lutheran services were held within the town of Copenhagen. Fredrick I ruled Denmark-Norway in 1523 and the religion remained Catholic. He pledged to persecute all Lutherans, but then adopted a policy of protecting Lutheran preachers. Ever since that happened, Lutheranism grew to be a main religion of the Holy Roman Empire. There was a period of Lutheranism called the Lutheran Orthodoxy. This time was divided into three different periods of time- early, high, and late Orthodoxy. Early Orthodoxy was in the year of 1580-1600. High Orthodoxy was in the time from 1600-1685, and Late Orthodoxy was in 1685 and ended in 1730. The Lutheran Orthodoxy was an era of the history of Lutheranism. It all began with the Book of Concord, which was published in Germany on June 25,1580. Lutheran scholasticism (a theological method that gradually developed during Lutheran Orthodoxy) was gradually developed during High Orthodoxy. The last of the three main religions of the Holy Roman Empire is Calvanism. There are many terms for Calvanism, such as Reformed Tradition, Reformed Faith, or Reformed Theology. This religion was founded by a man by the name of John Calvin. Protestant Reformation of the church began in 1534 when Calvin was 25 years old. Protestant Reformation means, a Christian reform movement. Calvanism had very different churches than other religions of its time. While other churches were fancy and had great architectual detail, churches of Calvanism were very plain and simple. There are five main points that people who believe in Calvanism should know. These five points make up the religion of Calvanism. Total Depravity is the first point. It asserts that every person born into the world is enslaved in sin. The second point, Unconditional Election, asserts that God’s choice for eternity of those he will bring himself, is not based on foreseen virtue or faith in these people. The third point, Limited Atonement, shows that teachings of Jesus Christ was definite and certain for its accomplishment. The fourth point, Irresistable Grace, asserts that the saving of grace of God is applied to the people who he was determined to save. The last point of Calvanism is Preserverance of the Saints, asserts that those whom God has called into Communion will continue faith until the end.
